I was standing on a public fishing pier in Oregon photographing the pelicans when this one decided he wanted a close up. It flew in so close I had move out of the way or it would have flew right into me if it hadn't been for a gentelman that was crab fishing, he threw out his crab basket right as it was coming in and clobbered it upside the head. The pelican was a little dazed and confused when it landed on the pier but was otherwise uninjured and flew off a short time later.
