Safely on the groundIncoming!!free fallingWaiting my turnSafely on the groundfree falling

Skydiving, a set on Flickr.

What I did today. Thanks Kris and Mike for taking some awesome pictures, and Roberto for getting me safely to the ground.

The first 30 seconds were the scariest of my entire life. I swear I felt like I was suffocating. Maybe I should have screamed and that would have relaxed me a bit. :-) Well anyway, it's done, I can check it off my list.

Red Headed Woodpecker

Red Headed Woodpecker, originally uploaded by pjh60.

I've seen two of them! I hope they're nesting and will stay around. Because the male and female have the same markings, I have no idea which one this is. Still can't believe they are in my backyard.

Baltimore Oriole (female)

She looks a little scraggly. I've seen 4 male and at least 2 female in the yard. More than the past couple of years.

Grey Catbird

I can't believe it, another new bird to my backyard.  This spring has been amazing with the exception of the bluebirds not returning to nest, although I have seen them flying around.  They decided to nest at the neighbors yard this year.

Anyway, the purpose of this post is the Grey Catbirds in the yard.  I was out back by the garage and kept hearing a new sounding bird.  I just kept looking up until I saw where it was hiding (they're shy birds).  Then I noticed there were two, so maybe they have a nest close by.  Cool!

WOW! after an excellent morning at Crystal Springs today, where I saw tons of new birds by the way, I came home to this new one in my backyard!! It was a great day for birding. I hope this one will come back and stay around.

Cattle Egret

Spotted a couple of Cattle Egret in a field with some cows....go figure. :-) At first when we rode by I though...what are those cats doing out here with those cows, then I looked again. I told my husband to turn the bike around so I could get some pictures to add to my collection. I can cross these off my list now.
