Take me to St Louis.

Hi all, spent a couple days in St Louis, MO. We were headed to he Smoky Mtns. but all that rain has us spending a couple days in St Louis instead. Went to the Arch and the Budweiser Brewery. Also saw the Forest Park Balloon Race. I will post pictures of that later. We are now in Branson for the next couple days still trying to dodge the rain but I think our luck is about to run out.

Crystal Springs, again

What a neat place. There are many different kinds of water birds there migrating now. Lots of Pelicans, Egrets, Heron.

Testing the new 400 mm

Well, new to me anyway. Went for a walk on the river trail looking for birds. Didn't see much but this one little one. Not sure what kind it is. I did get some decent shots of butterflies with the lens though. I was suprised.

And look at all those Egrets. Wholy cow! I've got to get over there this week.

Kris, the pelican's are coming in now. You should head down there. I may head over there sometime this week after work before we skip out of town so I don't miss them.

Dandelion Dew

Went for a walk this morning and thought this was interesting looking. So naturally, I took a picture.

Other stuff from Crystal Springs

Spider webs a plenty at Crystal Springs. They were really cool looking with the dew drops on them. Now, if I just could get a little better picture of them.

Green Heron from Crystal Springs

These little birds are hard to see until they move. Funny little birds sometimes.

The fog clears

I think this is a young Cattle Egret but I'm not positive. The adults have a yellow bill and a rusty color on the head and belly.

And then the fog lifted. It was a great day.

Egret's in the fog.

Kris came down Saturday and I took her over to Crystal Springs. It was foggy when we got there and to our amazement, there were at least 5 Egret hanging out fairly close. I also got the privilege of using her 400 mm lens. It was awesome!

A field of Happy Faces....

...that's what I think of when I see a field of sunflowers. Found this one way down on the Nebraska/Kansas border.
