Some sort of hawk. Not sure, could be a red tailed hawk. There are so many of these along the road.

Here you can see that part of it's wing is missing. He won't be flying south for the winter. Hope it's able to find shelter from the cold.
Another trip to Crystal Springs this weekend. Went to the Salty Dog to try out their Sunday breakfast. It was yummy! Then headed over to Fairbury, Larry wanted a look at the eagle. It was still there and I was able to get really close again. These shots are when it decided to take flight from it's perch. I wondered for a second if it was coming for my camera! It flew right over my head.
I hope to get over there again on a more sunny day before they are gone.

Double-crested Cormorant. Really suprised to see these still hanging around. According to my bird book they migrate through the area.
Chewi sporting her Halloween t-shirt. I bought this for her thinking she might wear it to keep her warm since she had just been shaved about the time the temperature took a nose dive. She kept it on for awhile but not for long.

I've lived in this town for 34 yrs. and have never visited this place. I talked Larry into going out there to check out the new building and walk a little. We did a couple miles at least. It about killed Larry, but it was a nice walk. They even allow snowshoeing and cross country skiing. Kris..you'll have to bring your snow shoes down.

An authentic working undershot water-powered grist mill. Producing all natural organic grains, flours and mixes that are hand packed by American families in the heart of the Arkansas Ozarks. (okay, I copied all that from a flyer). wareaglemill.com, if you want to look at their website.
